The job
Rotten, springy balcony deck pulled up and relaid with new boards and wider drainage gaps, so rain and morning dew run off instead of sitting between the boards.
“2m x 5m deck relay done today. The old boards had rotted, gone springy and broken in places — the gaps between them were too tight, so rain and morning dew sat in the grooves and cooked the timber. Pulled the old decking up, relaid it with proper gaps so the water drains, and the deck is solid underfoot again.”
